Take the guess work out of parenting and discover the joy of knowing what your baby has to say before she can talk! One of the most fundamental human desires is to be understood - help your baby communicate by teaching her baby sign language.

This app includes approx. 340 signs and over 1 hour of real life video demonstrations! The friendly presenters in the Baby Sign Language Dictionary app will help you to learn to sign with your baby in an engaging and enjoyable way.

The keyword signs demonstrated in this video dictionary are based on American Sign Language (ASL). All signs have been carefully selected for their ease of use, helpfulness to carers and appropriateness for babys interests and daily routine.

Each sign has a detailed video tutorial covering information such as: simple instructions on how to perform the sign, clever tips to help you remember the sign and practical suggestions on how to introduce the sign to your baby.

The signs are also organized into categories such as: action words, animals, daily routines, feelings and emotions, food, manners and behavior, and nature – all of which are arranged alphabetically for quick and easy searching.

To test your baby signing knowledge, the app also comes with a fun interactive video quiz that will help you learn and remember the signs. You can also mark signs as part of your favorites list.

Other key features:
• high quality graphics and videos optimized for viewing on Retina displays.
• optional setting to allow continuous play through of all signs in a category.
• swipe through the signs in a category without returning to the menu.
• optional setting to view a simplified demonstration for a sign rather than the complete tutorial.

This app makes the perfect parents companion to the popular Baby Sign and Learn animated apps (also available on the App Store). Featuring gentle guidance and practical advice, this app has been designed to help make teaching your baby to sign as easy as waving “bye-bye”!

Pros and cons of Baby Sign Dictionary ASL app for iPhone and iPad

Baby Sign Dictionary ASL app good for

This app is so worth the $1.99 I paid for it. I have a child with autism and learning sign language for babies is perfect for him. The app gets full stars from me because each sign is explained with a clear video that tells us how to carry out the sign and gives us easy ways to remember how to do the sign. This is a clear and organized app. Easy to use.
This is a great compliment to the popular book "the baby signing book." I found that the videos made it very easy to remember signs. It provided a fantastic visual as compared to a static picture with arrows in a book. And a lot of the words provided good memorizing tips. The free version is a great start to testing out key words. But I think the full version is great for the more serious parent who doesnt have enough time to read/study from a book. I was able to learn a lot of signs from this app and incorporate it into conversations with my eight month old. I only wish they had play through of the videos as opposed to pressing forward to the next word. And if this was possible, playing from different start points especially in my favorites section. Happy First Time Mom.
I have learned so many signs in such a short period of time. I wish this co. had an app to learn the complete dictionary of ASL signs. I love the enthusiasm of the two instructors, and their explanations are usually very helpful in remembering the signs. A+
Awesome way to learn ASL with both instructors giving examples on how to remember the sign. Good job making this App. Glad I bought the full version.
Fantastic baby sign app. The videos and explanations are clear and easy to use. Many useful words. Great web for beginner sign language, not just baby sign.
Love it. And so easy to understand and had everything you need to teach your child.

Some bad moments

Best baby sign app, well worth the cost. Videos are extremely helpful for learning the proper sign since theres no guess work involved.
I love this app. Its handy and I refer to it alot. And its nice not to flip through a book trying to find what I need to sign to my daughter. And theres no chance if losing the book or getting it messy. My daughter is 5 mo old and all ready knows all done, no, more, bath, hug and mommy. Cant sign yet but she recognizes my sign to the word. She kinda does all done by herself. I would rec the app to any parent that wants to communicate with their baby before words are spoken. Both her and I are enjoying learning together. :)
This is a great app. Had the free version and downloaded the paid version soon after. Only issue is I wish there were more words. Or updates for more words.
I love this app. My daughter and I are learning together. It is worth it. She has a way to communicate with me.
Wonderful app for basics. Updates to expand the vocabulary or even packages to purchase would be wonderful. Please consider.
This app has clear concise instruction. They made all of the signs relatable and gave tips to help you remember them!
